Genesis Chapter 1

So for devotions I have been studying the Old Testament. Starting with *drum roll* GENESIS!!! I made an out line of the Chapter.
Here it is!

A. Creation
     1.) Day 1-Light (Day/Night)
     2.) Day 2-Sky
     3.) Day 3-Dry Land
4.) Day 4-Sun, Moon, Stars (seasons, days, and years)
     5.) Day 5-Animals
          a) Commanded to be fruitful
     6.) Day 6-Humans
          a) Made in God's likeness
          b) Have dominion over the animals
          c) Be fruitful
7.) He saw made sure everything was "good"

Chapter 1 of Genesis is about the the first 6 days of creation. God didn't NEED 6 days, but I believe He chose to take 6 days to be an example. If God took 6 days to create the universe, then I think we can take our time in getting things done. Now I am not saying to procrasinate, but we tend to get try to squeeze as many things as we can in 1 day. Then we are up all hours of the night and then we aren't taking care of our bodies which is the temple of God ( 1 Cor. 3:16). Another reason why I think He took 6 days is this one little saying that was repeated in almost every verse (at least so it seemed) "...and God saw that it was good." He took His time and made sure the job was done right! I hate when people do a job half-way. AND SOMETIMES I AM THE ONE DOING IT HALF-WAY!! Ugh! It is sooo frustrating! I usually end up going back and doing it again anyways! The Bible says to "do all to the glory of God." ( 1 Cor. 10:31). So we are suppose to do all things well. And God is the perfect example of that when He created the world.

Well it is getting late and I have school in the morning! I have lots more to post! :)

Watching

In Opening on Monday morning, Pastor spoke one Proverbs 21:12. The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but Fod overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
Promise: God is going to over throw the wicked.
Pastor asked us if we knew of a family who weren't living for the Lord. Then he asked us what are the homes like. Rough, troubled, heavy spirit, tention-just a few things that pop into my mind. He went on to tell us that the Bible says that God is going to overthrow or destroy the wicked, so there was no use to long to live like they were. Because while things might be going ok now, in the end their sin will find them out and they will be destroyed. He ended it with a challenge. He challenged us to wach the "wicked" and see what their end is.

Thought I would try to share some Opening messages with you. They are 15 min or less devotions so I won't have much. :)

Destiny

"Simply put, there is no other true life. There are substitutes. There are second-hand copies. But you have only one destiny designed by God and only one life with which to discover it. You can't rewind, You can't start over. You'll never pass 'go.' One chance is all you get. Whoever heard of a game where you only get one turn? Welcome to real life. These are God's rules. You go around one time, then you stand before Him to give an account. You cannot see the future; you cannot cheat. You cannot really be sure of anything but Him. You and only you will give account for you. You cannot blame anyone or anything else for mistakes  or failures, You will be given full and unrestricted access to God, but only by faith. You cannot see Him or audibly hear Him. You will be given His Word and His promises. You will be subject to His laws, yet given the free will to rebel against a select number of them. In the end, you will face eternity. You will answer only to God, and you will live somewhere forever. there are no time-outs, and you never know for sure when the game will end. As you are learning the fame, it has already started, and it could end at any moment. You'll know that the game is over when you are flat on your face before Jesus Christ. Your turn will be first, you are the only player in your 'race,' and it's always your turn/ On your mark; get set; go!"

BACK!!!!

Hey ya'll!!
I'm back from the beautiful state of California! It was sooo warm and green!! I can't wait for spring!! I love the college! It was amazing! I could just tell that God's spirit was there. I can't wait to go back THIS fall!
So confession-I really have bee struggling with my devotions and my walk with God. I can hold grudges and I was. Soooo last week I really struggled with reading my Bible everyday. Thank the Lord that the I was getting preached at everyday. Sometimes twice a day. But I am happy to say I am resolving things. And my walk with the Lord is getting stronger!
Our flight home got delayed due to all the crazy rain we got. Well for some strange reason I just wanted to charge my camera. (It was dead, but I didn't use it so I coulda waited til I got home.) Well the ONLY plug was by a Jew OOrthodox (sp?). I didn't know that was her "religion". So I go over plug my camera in and she asked me if I was Jewish Orthodox (sp?). I told her no and we ended up getting into a conversion over religion. Now I have a strong desire to study the Old Testament so I can better be prepared for the next time! If you think about it please pray for her. She is lost and is going to hell. If she is here when the Anti-Christ makes himself known she will follow him. And will be lost forever! Praise the Lord I was able to witness to her a little.
But I hope to be back and updating regularly (sp?) again!
Lots of Love <3

Luke 24:13-53

Hey ya'll!
Wow! Today has been exciting! I finished packing for California! WOOO-HOOOO!!! LA here I come! My school is sending its Seniors to West Coast Baptist College for a week to view the college. I am sooo excited! :) I also discovered that my Kid's Club group is teaching this month! Pretty exciting! Beka taught today's lesson. She did really well for being unprepared! She spoke on knowing the Lord personally! It was a really great lesson!
Well today's devotion for me is Luke 24:13-53.This section of Scripture is over the resurrection and ascension of Christ. I am sooo thankful He didn't stay dead! I am soo thankful that He will return one day! And soon! One thing that really stood out to me in this passage was "And their eyes were opened, and they knew him..." (vs 31) Verse 45 says something similiar. "Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures." The book of Proverbs has alot to say about understanding. In fact, Prov. 2 :5 says that understanding AND knowledge is from the Lord. If we want to be smart (because to be smart you have to KNOW fact, but you also have to UNDERSTAND them.), we have to get in God's Word. We have to know God. (John 1 :1 God and the Word are the same) Many people go to church, but how many of them go to church because they WANT to hear from God. Many people own a Bible, but how many of them READ their Bible hoping that God will speak to them personally. God doesn't speak throught dreams or visions anymore. And you will not hear Him audiblely (sp?). You have to read His Word. Read what He gave you. Many call the Bible "God's Love Letter to Us". Most people when they get love letters they keep safe and read them over and over and over and over again. They will have it memorized word for word but they still will take the time to read it. Why? Because it is precious to them. Well the Bible should be even more precious than a love letter from your love one.
I hope this encourages you and even motivates you to be closer to God. Well time for church! I will be gone all next week! Hope you make it a GREAT week! :)

Devotion

Hello again!
Lately, I have been doing a 90-Day Overview. I will be reading day 62 passage today which is Luke 22:1-23.
Luke 22 is talking about the Lord's Supper, or better known as the Last Supper. This is the night that Judas would betray Jesus, and turn Him over to the government. Now, please remember Jesus lived a perfect life. He never did anything wrong! You may ask then why was He being punished? Because "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Jesus had sacrifice His life so that "whosoever believeth in Him [Jesus] should not perish [die and go to Hell], but have eternal life [go to Heaven and live forever]." Jesus died for everyone! No matter what you have done, Jesus died for you! He wants you to have eternal life! He wants you to be with Him in Heaven forever! (2 Peter 3:9) This is a wonderful promise! Romas 10:13- "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." All we have to do is ask! Romasn 6:23- "For the wages [payment] of sin is death; but the gift [something that is given to you freely] of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
I want to encourage you to ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and to save you from sin. (If you haven't already.) This is THE MOST IMPORTANT decision you will ever make! I pray this has been an encouragement to you if you are saved. I know it has for me.
Thanks for reading! :)

Beginning

Hello! :)
I really just started this blog to help me think and hopefully get closer to the Lord. I have been having issues lately with my thought life. So I am hoping this might help.
A little about me: I have had one BEST friend. Her name is Rebekah (aka Beka or Bek). She has been with me since the grand age of 2. Haha :) We are nursery buddies! I love her to death!! She has been with me through everything! Even when I probably didn't deserve her being there.

Pee-Wee Club
I have a WONDERFUL church! It has its moments like any other thing, but there's no place like your home church! At my church, I am EXTREMELY busy! And I love it! I teach a class on Wednesday called "Pee-Wee Club."  I am in the church choir, the ladies choir, and a couple singing groups (I don't know why I'm in sooo many singing groups, I don't even have that great of a voice!). I also take my turn helping with the nursery and with "Kid's Club."

I have not quite graduate from high school yet! (JUNE 2011!!!) So I'm still living at home. My family is...special. hahaha I love them! I am the oldest of 4. I have 3 brothers. Do you understand what that mean? Yeah! Surrounded by guys! My parents are still together. I have a dog name Izabelle Grace, a cat named Cotten, and another cat named Callie (aka Tubbie).
